Life Drawing

This is the last two weeks of life drawing. The first week was all done in pencil. The second weeks drawings were all done in charcoal.

These first few drawings were a bit of a disaster. Trying to shade in a dressing gown covered in black and white stripes was a difficult task. They drawings look more like doodles. Oh well...

...Still, the rest came out better.

It took a while to get used to using charcoal (and getting messy) but by the third drawing with 1 hour and 5 mins to complete, I just decided to start smudging and blurring more, to get better shading. The last one is my favorite anyway.

  1. Hi Ethan,

Drawings 4 & 6 are great - I especially like drawing number 4 - very sculptural - your commitment to improving your drawing skills is very satisfying!

  2. So? What did you make of the Dr Who re-boot? While I found the story rather too hectic in places (I always think this), I thought that, in the first five minutes, Matt Smith made the role is own and the Amy Pond character was likeable from the start - and whole idea that the Doctor has been in her head for years was a masterstroke in creating a strong relationship between the two characters... not sure I liked the Doctor hacking in to all those computer systems much - a bit too convenient, but hey, there was a cameo from Sir Patrick Moore!

  3. Well I agree with you on the story, not bad, just not the best. I find the first episodes never are. But a good introduction to Matt Smith. I enjoyed it and the extended trailer is promising, although I think they showed way too much. The Tardis is amazing!
The new theme tune was good although the time vortex itself doesn't compare to the last one. It looks alright but it is just a tube of cloads. The logo changing into the tardis is probably the best part of it.

The first episode with the new doctor did have a different feel to it, thats something that I expect we will get used to as the series progresses. I've always liked Steven Moffats episodes so I can't wait for the next one.
